IviumBoost

The IviumBoost is a hi-power booster that has been designed to increase the current of the IviumStat or the IviumStat.XR. The booster is connected in front of the IviumStat in-line with the cell cable. In order to operate an IviumBoost an IviumStat is needed.

The IviumBoost is available in two models:

● ±40 A @ ±10 V
● ±20 A @ ±20 V

iviumboost

The output capacity of the IviumBoost makes it a device that is particularly interesting for applications that require high power but precision control, such as:
Batteries, Fuel Cells, Membrane-Electrode-Assemblies, Electrolysis, Corrosion , Deposition, etc.
Using the IviumBoost all electrochemical techniques are applicable across the full potential range. As opposed to a simple load, the IviumBoost shows no singularities at 0 V. With a sample rate of 100.000 pnts/sec and a risetime of less than 50 μs, the IviumBoost can meet even the fastest requirements.

Plus-module

The Plus-module increases the power of the CompactStat. It connects in front of the CompactStat in-line with the cell cable, both together forming the CompactStatPlus. So, in order to operate a Plus-module a CompactStat is needed.

The Plus-module is available in two models:

plus module

● Plus
● Plus II

→    ±250mA@±20V
→    ±800mA@±8V/±500mA@±10V

The Plus-module is a separate module that is designed to increase the power capacity of the CompactStat. This will allow the CompactStat to be used with full potentiostat power. The modularity of the Plus-module still allows the CompactStat to be used separately, thus not loosing any of its portable applications! Because of its power requirements the CompactStatPlus needs a power adapter that connects to the grid.

The CompactStatPlus has all the same features and accuracy of the separate CompactStat, but adds the 100 mA current range.

MultiWE32

The MultiWE32 is a multi-potentiostat module that controls up to 32 WE's simultaneously vs. 1 CE and 1 RE! It is designed especially for applications with low power/current requirements, such as nanotechnology, sensor development, analytical electrochemistry, biotechnology, medical research, etc.

The MultiWE32 is an add-on module, either the IviumStat or the CompactStat are needed to operate it. A single unit can control 32 WE's, but 8 units can be stacked so that 256 WE's can be operated simultaneously (i.c.w. IviumStat)

multiwe32

This 32-channel potentiostat module can operate up to 32 working electrodes simultaneously that share a single counter electrode and reference electrode. That means that it applies a potential across all channels continuously! And the potentials for each working electrode have an independent programmable offset. During measurement all channels are sampled simultaneously. The maximum applied potential is determined by the controlling potentiostat (i.e. ±4 V for the CompactStat; ±10 V for the IviumStat; etc.)

Specs per channel:

● max. current: ±1 mA
● potential offset: max. ±2 V, 0.0625 mV resolution
● sequential or simultaneous mode

True Linear Scan (LinScan)

The True Linear Scan is a hardware option that applies a smooth analog ramp, instead of the standard staircase sweep. This hardware configuration is available on all IviumStats and CompactStats and can be fitted retrospectively via a software-key upgrade.

The True Linear Scan option is designed to be used in those cases where the nature and speed of the electrochemical reaction processes lead to information loss when a standard digital staircase signal is applied (fast transient behaviour, absorption, α-characteristics).

The Software parameters and scanlimits are identical to the standard staicase technique. Specific parameters:

● Scan range ±2 V, 0.125 mV resolution
● Scanrate 1 μV/s - 10.000 V/s
● Available in the techniques: LSV and CV

BipotentioStat (BiStat)

The bipotentiostat (BiStat) is a hardware option that enables a second working electrode (WE2) with programmable potential offset wrt RE or WE1. It is used for various applications, including rotating ring disc electrode (RRDE) measurements. The bipotentiostat is fully integrated in the potentiostatic Sweep and Transient methods. Its data is recorded simultaneously with the primary channel and can be represented in the same plot using a secondary axis, or in a separate plot. The maximum scanrate or minimum interval times are the same as for the primary channel

Specific parameters:
● 2 configurations ♦ "standard": WE2 at a fixed potential w.r.t. RE
♦ "scanning": WE2 at a fixed offset potential w.r.t. the primary WE
● Applied offset potential range ±2.0 V
● Applied potential resolution 0.0625 mV
● Compliance voltage ±2.0 V w.r.t. primary WE
● Maximum current ±30 mA
● Current ranges 1 pA to 10 mA in 11 ranges (lower 4 ranges use gain amplifier)
● Measured current resolution 0.076 % of current range, and 0.0000023% using gain amplifier
● Minimum current resolution 0.15 fA
● Data acquisition simultaneously with primary WE1, 100 kHz max.
● Programmable response filter 1 MHz, 100 kHz, 10 kHz, 1 kHz, 10 Hz

Multiplexer

The Ivium Technologies high performance electrochemical multiplexer (HiMUX) can work individual cells with 4 electrodes each and is fully compatible with all IviumStats and CompactStats. Because each channel has its own electrometer, its performance is superior to the switchbox approach. Furthermore, the multiplexer units can be stacked so that a maximum of 64 channels can be controlled by a single potentiostat.

The multiplexer is available in 2 models:

  HiMUX.XR:
8 independent channels per module:
- WE, CE, RE, S, WE2, GND
Stackable up to 8 modules with a total of 64 channels
HiMUX32:
32 independent channels per module:
- WE, CE, RE, S
2 modules stackable up to a total of 64 channels
Technical specifications:
● Fast channel switching: Because no switches are connected to RE&S, there are no (dis-)charge currents when channels are switched. High impedance (reference-) electrodes require a long stabilization time after each switch. The HiMUX keeps RE&S always connected, and allows for fast channel switches without disturbing the electrochemical cells.
● Excellent high frequency performance: the design with independent active
electrometers allows the whole RE/S cable-length to be enclosed within driven shields. This results in a very low leakage capacitance, and measurements can be done in the high frequency range without performance loss compared to the un-multiplexed situation.
Each Electrometer: ♦ Input impedance: >1000 Gohm//<8 pF
  ♦ Bandwidth >16 MHz
● Maximum compliance WE & CE: 5A
● Automatic channel selection is integrated in the software.

Peripheral Port Expander

The Peripheral Port Expander (PPE) is a connection box with 32 banana sockets (4mm) for easy connection to the various analog and digital inputs&outputs that are available in each Ivium potentiostat. The banana sockets are colour coded for easy recognition and include a
5 V, max. 100 mA power point. A DB37-data cable connects the PPE to the potentiostat.

Peripheral Differential Amplifier

The Peripheral Differential Amplifier (PDA) module allows the simultaneous recording of differential bipolar high-ohmic external voltages, such as reference or pH meters. The PDA has 8 differential input channels, and it is stackable up to units with a total of 64 channels. The PDA module is powered from the grid via an adapter.
The PDA module is like the PPE module, it has the same appearance. However, instead of
8 analog inputs that just measure vs. gnd, the PDA module has 8 differential channels with high input impedance (> 10^12 Ohm) for measuring high-ohmic external voltages. Next to that the PDA module is a connection box for the various analog and digital inputs&outputs that are available in each Ivium potentiostat.

Peripheral Level Transformer

The Peripheral Level Transformer (PLT) is an adapter module that increases the voltage of the analog inputs&outputs for easy communication with external devices. It is connected between the instrument and the periphery. All signals are passed through this module, and except level change of the analog inputs and outputs, it is fully compatible with the situation without PLT.
The IviumStat and CompactStat are equipped with a 37-pins expansion port that can be used to apply analog output signals and measure analog input signals. The standard input/output-range is 0 to +4V. The PLT adapter module can be used to extend this range. The PLT transforms the range of the analog inputs 1&2 to ±10V, and the analog outputs to 0 to +10V (or ±10V)

ModuLight module

The ModuLight-module is a programmable light source that has been specifically designed to investigate photo-electrical devices, such as solar cells. The module will operate in combination with all Ivium potentiostats, through the peripheral I/O-port.

The ModuLight wavelength can be set programmatically from 465-635 nm in 7 steps. The light intensity can be modulated using the sinewave generator of the potentiostat, from 10µHz to 2MHz. Using the extensive Solar cell applications that are included in the Ivium software, it is thus possible to fully characterize a solar cell. The functionality includes E/I curves as function of the light intensity, IMVS/IMPS, and solar cell modelling resulting in all characteristic values of the studied object.
